The Camino Frances pilgrim's route

In September 2019, eight club members (including one having returned to the club from his racing days in the 1960s) took to the roads of north Spain, to follow the pilgrim's route from St. Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela. They adopted the cycle route option based on the route known as The Way of St James, also referred to as Camino Frances - the French route.

Thus they flew into Bayonne, on the French-Spanish border, rode to St. Jean-Pied-de-Port on the French side of the Pyrennees to start the route officially, then crossed the mountains into Spain, heading west to the Galicia region and ending at the magnificent cathedral (and the Pilgrim's Office) in Santiago.

Maybe at some point, there will be a full write-up of the adventure; meanwhile, enjoy these photographs...
