Some brief information about Stretford Wheelers Cycling club in Manchester.

We are a group of individuals from the Manchester and Cheshire area keen on cycling,  with competetive and social cyclist in the club, sometimes it's fun to just get out there and enjoy the  cycling and socialising.

We are a friendly bunch and whatever you want from your cycling there will be someone similar in the club.

We cater for the serious competion cyclist who wants to train and race with club mates, the social cyclist who may just want to go out on a Sunday and explore the Cheshire countryside or you may be you are new to cycling and are not sure what you want to do except cycle with other likeminded people. There are a number of seasoned experienced cyclist in the club who have been cycling for many many years but the key thing is we welcome all.

We are often joined by members from other clubs, on local runs and also trips abroad.

We do arrange trips a bit further afield, this year groups have travelled to Majorca, twice and Zel in Germany. One of our members also cycled down France over the Pyrenees and then took the boat back to his home in Majorca.

Annual club events include 10 and 25 mile time trials, hill climb and the annual dinner dance and award presentation, held at Davyhulme golf club. Our 2013 event was a superb evening and a great time was had by all.

There is a wealth of experience to be found, within our membership, from bikes to competion advice. Some of our members act as officials for events like the Olympics, Para Olympics, and local/regional organized events.
